Mike Magnotti has lived in Washington State since January of 1973. Mike earned a BA degree Biblical literature 1977. For 20 years he served as a police officer for the city of Wenatchee, retiring at the rank of sergeant in December 2006. During his police career Mike specialized in the areas of sexual assault, child abuse, and domestic violence.
In December 1996 Mike earned an MA degree in Leadership Studies. He returned to graduate school in 1999 and in September 2004 he earned a second master's degree in Counseling Psychology. He worked part time for the Wenatchee office of Catholic Family and Child Services as a mental health therapist from February 2004 until retiring from the Wenatchee Police. During this time he was certified as a mental-health professional and a child mental health specialist, working with children, teens and adults as well as providing mental health services in the Chelan County Regional Jail. Mike became a licensed mental health counselor with the state of Washington in November 2007. Mike opened the first satellite office of Antioch Adoptions in Wenatchee on July 7, 2007 and transitioned the agency to New Life Adoptions a few years later. Currently, Mike provides post placement report and homestudy services for folks seeking both family and/or private adoptions.
For more than four years Mike was the host of the popular, "Street Talk and Other Stuff," radio talk show on KPQ, 560 AM in North Central Washington. MIke currently hosts "Street Talk and Other Stuff," a half hour TV show featuring guests and stories of local interest on NCWLife TV. Mike has also served as the emcee for fund raising events for folks such as the American Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America. Mike is an accomplished and dynamic public speaker and is always eager to assist other organizations and causes, as well as speaking to churches, service clubs and any other interested group.
Mike has been married for 44+ years and has two grown children and three grandchildren.
